A John Innes Centre report commissioned by MAFF will produce evidence of 'transgenic pollution' from GM crops to neighbouring fields. Safe planting distances are currently set at two hundred metres, to reduce the risk of cross-pollination. Government will be under extra pressure when the Soil Association issues new guidelines on planting distances to its own organic farmers.
