According to a Barbour Index survey, architects are way ahead of QSs and other building team members in their use of IT to gather information. The survey reveals that 80% of architects have access to information in an electronic format, compared to 45% of QSs. Use of IT is set to expand rapidly within the industry. At the moment technical debate between architects is focused on using e-mail and how copyright of drawings might be protected.
