UK coastline is left to its own devices - 1999 - CSM 9(2) October 1999, 28(1) .

Lack of resources coupled with rising sea levels means that government is no longer able to maintain the levels of coastal protection which have been possible in the past. A policy of 'managed retreat' has therefore been adopted for agricultural land and sparsely populated areas. This article looks at the implications for surveyors.
