GVA Grimley's "Survey of property trends" for the CBI showed that a fifth of the firms surveyed had increased their property holdings in the second half of 1999 compared to a tenth in the previous six months. However growth in the north, Scotland and Northern Ireland was significantly lower than that in the South and Midlands. Demand for retail property was the highest.
