Reviews a report to be made by the Construction Liaison Group to the Environment Secretary assessing the effect of the Construction Act 1996, in the shape of the Scheme for Construction Contracts, on driving out contractual and payment abuses. After analysing some 100 subcontract forms of contract the CLG finds over half non-compliant and new onerous clauses being introduced. Reviews this and other issues the CLG would like reviewed with a view to extending the legislation.
