Fixtures and historic buildings

Palmer, N.

Fixtures and historic buildings - 2000 - Art Antiquity and Law 5(1) March 2000, 37-46(6) .

Examines a recent decision concerning paintings, which used to be situated at Noseley Hall, Leicestershire. The appeal case provides an illustration of the rule that whether an object contained, or attached in a listed historic building is subject to the same planning regulations as the building, depends on whether the object is classified as a fixture in common law.
