£1bn to save farmland birds

£1bn to save farmland birds - 2000 - Independent 7 August 2000, 9(1) .

A formal commitment to reverse the decline in Britain's farmland birds has been made by the Government. It is hoped that by using the £1bn fund for agri-environment schemes to restore farmland habitats, the decline can be reversed by 2020.
