Bugs feel heat in antique saunas

Bugs feel heat in antique saunas - 2000 - Guardian 21 August 2000, 26(1) .

Antique objects in English Heritage care, are being treated in a slow-heating woodlined oven to rid them of pests such as the carpet mite. The slow heating of the new method means that every section of an infested item gets reached, whilst the damp heat also prevents delicate objects from drying out. The trials have cost and environmental significance for the way fixtures and fittings are treated.
