LT 28 May 1999. L sought compensation for the compuslory acquisition of its freehold cash and carry premises in Salford. L claimed unavailability of suitable sites for relocation meant the extinguishment of the business. The compensation claim had been calculated at £6,573,405. S claimed there were plenty of suitable sites and assessed compensation at £1,675, 308. "Held" compensation payable by the council to the claimant was £1,979,778.
