Figures published in "Business in the Information Age - International Benchmarking Study 2000" report show that 27% of UK business is trading online, making it one of the world's leaders in e-commerce. As part of the plan to get one million SMEs trading online, E-Minister Patricia Hewitt announced a £5.5m Internet Mentoring Initiative to help internet start-ups and established SMEs who want to make the internet the primary means of doing business.
