Discusses the implications of the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999, which brings English law closely into line with other systems of contract law. This radically alters the longstanding general rule whereby a person can only enforce a contract if he is party to it. Now, in certain circumstances, a third party has the right to enforce particular contractual terms.
