'Energy labelling' introduced for new homes

Under the revised Building Regulations and Approved Inspectors Regulations 2000 the government will require house builders to visually display energy ratings of all new homes. Building inspectors will also be required to liase more closely with fire authorites at the design and construction stages to ensure that the finished building meets the requirements of fire precautions legislation.
