Kochan, B.

Strategic partnerships key to unlocking neighbourhood fund - 2000 - Urban Environment Today (107) 19 October 2000, 11(1) .

Looks at the Neighbourhood Renewal Fund. This aims to provide extra money for local authorities in the most deprived areas to spend on services which deliver real improvements for the community, such as crime prevention programmes. Provides a listing of those LAs due to receive funding, with indicative allocations for 2001/2002, along with regional allocations. Under recently published draft regulations, the 88 LAs due to receive additional allocations from the Fund will be required to set up Local Strategic Partnerships involving key local agencies. Funds are not guaranteed to authorities unless these partnerships are in place. Discusses the new DETR guidance for setting up partnerships and accessing the fund. Copies of "Local Strategic Partnerships: Consultation Document" and "The Neighbourhood Renewal Fund: Consultation Document" are available on the DETR's website: www.detr.gov.uk
