BPF/IPD tenant survey of 85,000 tenancies, reveals shorter leases are being signed across all sectors. The average lease length fell to 15.7 years in 1999-2000, 2.7 years shorter than in 1990-98. The office sector has seen the greatest reduction in lease duration, since 1990-92, by more than 8 years to 12.4 years.
