DETR confirms plans to update structural liability regulations. The January 2001 review of Part A of the Building Regulations will tackle severe weather conditions. Recent research by the BRE "Potential implications of climate change in the built environment" predicts changes to the Building Regulations, to take into account damage caused by high winds, and flooding. DETR is in consultation with the BRE on potential changes to the Building Regulations.
