Government plans to introduce legislation that will require sellers to produce a pack that includes a structural survey, local searches, planning permissions and legal titles after a pilot study found that it could save time and money. According to Bristol & West and Cheltenham & Gloucester, however, the proposed new pack has been poorly received and failed to shorten the time taken to buy a home during the recent pilot scheme. A leaflet outling the government's proposed changes is available from Legal & General. Tel: 01737 375288 or visit http://www.landg.com.
