Examines productivity in the construction industry, focusing on the variety of productivity methods, how they are measured, and ways to achieve higher productivity. Suggests that labour productivity is the most reliable measure in construction, and outlines 'internal' and 'external' factors which can affect construction productivity. Discusses findings from a questionnaire survey sent to construction companies in Calgary, Canada, in which respondents were asked to comment on differing practices for measuring and improving productivity, and ideas for improving of existing practices.
