The Egan assessment - 2000 - Construction News (6693) 23 November 2000, 14-15(2) .

Looks at how far the construction industry has taken on board Egan's proposals, two years on from the Movement for Innovation launch to improve efficiency and practice in construction. Describes the principles of the Egan report, and suggests that there has been a shift in attitude within the industry. Looks at the relative success of the demonstration projects; key performance indicators have shown good results, but half of the projects have yet to report their findings. Concludes that a key challenge from the Egan report is to improve commitment to people, particularly in terms of health and safety, welfare and personal development.
