John Taylor, MP for Solihull, is to introduce a Private Member's Bill which may impose a maximum height restriction of two metres on hedges as well as giving local authorities the power to intervene if mediation between neighbours fails. The government unveiled similar proposals in a Green Paper in August and promised to bring in legislation if it could find parliamentary time.
