The creation of new jobs in parts of southern England is pushing up house prices. Concerned Labour MPs in southern England, particularly the Thames Valley corridor, are lobbying government to stop creating new jobs in their constituencies. They warn of a crisis of prosperity, the symptoms of which include excessive housebuilding, transport congestion and significant public sector recruitment problems.
