Britain struggles towards a contaminated land policy

Looks at Britain`s contaminated land policy with particular reference to a recent DOE circular which sets out official advice on the planning aspects of redeveloping contaminated land. Local authorities claim that in order to make the circular work they need further guidance on the compilation of contaminated land registers and on the disclosure of the results to the public. The DOE agree, but say that any further progress is being hampered by lack of resources.
