Research from GVA Grimley and the CBI indicates a widening gap between the retail and office sectors; 28% of occupiers are increasing their office holdings with only 8% reducing them. This is a marked contrast to the retail sector where the balance between retailers looking to expand or reduce has fallen from 57% in November 1999 to 9% and is predicted to fall to 5% in the next six months.
