In the current climate of farm diversification, conversions of redundant farm buildings are occuring more frequently. With reference to the Carminowe Barn Restaurant project in Cornwall, the article discusses the issues surrounding farm building conversions which include the conflict between obtaining planning permission and adhering to building regulations.
