The Countryside Agency has published its new strategy for the English Countryside which includes tackling the issue of rural deprivation. Analysis of deprivation factors by the Countryside Agency shows that there are large areas of rural deprivation in some of the more remote corners of the English countryside with pockets of severe rural deprivation surrounded by more affluent rural areas.
