London woos overseas investors

London woos overseas investors - 2001 - Estates Gazette (0104) 27 January 2001, 46(1) .

Research by Knight Frank indicates that 41% of all prime London residential property bought in the second half of 2000 was purchased by overseas investors. Suggests that the weaker demand from UK investors is due to the uncertainty in the UK market, and the weakening of sterling. Developers are therefore targeting overseas investors. For instance, Middle Eastern investors have been targeted by the World Wide Property Exhibition.
