On behalf of the Historic Buildings Fire Research Co-ordinating Committee, English Heritage has set up the Historic Buildings Fire Research Database (FreD) to provide a source of expertise for all owners of historic buildings in Britain. Information provided on the database includes guidance on how to improve the fire resistance of old and ill-fitting doors. FReD can be viewed at: 'www.english-heritage.org.uk'
