Foot and mouth outbreak triggers food-chain scrutiny - 2001 - Times 24 February 2001, 7(1) .

The Agriculture Minister had announced a long term policy review of food industry to identify if current practices are contributing to any increased risk to human or animal health. Possible outcomes include a ban on bringing cooked meat and prepared foods into the country and the use of a network local abattoirs to prevent the spread of disease.
