A need for internationally recognised rules and practices on the world's capital markets has led to the creation of PricewaterhouseCoopers' Opacity Index. The first instalment of this Index has been released online at 'opacityindex.com'. Five key areas covered are: corruption, the legal system, government macro-economic and fiscal policies, accounting standards and regulatory regimes.
