The first housing investment trust, sponsored by broker Williams de Broe, is due to be launched next week. The new fund will be promoted as an alternative to buy-to-let investments, offering a 10% return on income units. The portfolio consists of 800 properties, mainly starter homes and flats, worth £57.5m.
