Considers the latest forecast by Cambridge University researcher Alan Holmans, on the number of new affordable homes that will be needed for rent, particularly in London and the south-east, over the next 15 years. His forecast, published by not-for-profit housing associations and the Town and Country Planning Association, predicts that 230,000 new homes or conversions will be needed each year across England until 2016.
