Prompted by measures in the Commonhold and Leasehold Reform Bill, the Co-op bank will offer insurance services and loans to groups of flat owners to help with urgent repairs and the general management of shared property. The introduction of commonhold should shift the power from unscrupulous freeholders to leaseholders, and encourage the growth of Resident Management Companies (RMCs).
