A survey of retailers by Donaldsons has revealed that leases on retail premises in prime locations have risen by 51% compared with the previous lease but that in the last year rent increases in these areas have be outstripped by those in less desirable locations. Donaldsons predicts that retail rents will continue to rise at 3% pa but that the rate may increase to 4%.
