The Housing Minister has announced that the DETR is to make £8.5m in match funding available to local authorities each year for the next three years to help support the running costs of Home Improvement Agencies. HIAs provide assistance to the elderly, disabled and those on low incomes who wish to undertake repairs and improvements in their homes.
