The Countryside Minister has welcomed the Environment Agency's flood report whose recommendations include: improving flood warning arrangements and the quality of weather forecasts received; taking into account recent experiences in the review of emergency planning arrangements; detailing partnerships and responsibility for preventing and responding to flooding in local policy statements; and additional investment in flood and coastal defences and the setting of targets to ensure that these are delivered.
