Shock ruling on personal liability appals profession

Following the landmark Court of Appeal decision in "Merrett v Babb" (see WB3709-22) which found that an RICS member was personally liable for a mortgage valuation he gave over seven years earlier, even after the insolvency of his former employer; RICS is to appeal to the House of Lords.
