- 2001
- Financial Times 11 April 2001, 10(1) .
The Greater London Authority's "Report on London's competitiveness through the impact of e-business" published 10 April 2001 warns that London risks being overtaken by Amsterdam and Frankfurt as the European capital for e-commerce. A lack of affordable broadband access outside the Square Mile and skills shortages could slow London down. A recent Oftel report reveals UK broadband prices are more expensive than in Europe or the US. One of the report's proposals is that measures be put in place to encourage technology to be installed in new buildings.
