Discusses the possible benefits of Transport Development Areas (TDA) advocated in an RICS report, "Transport Development Areas: a study into achieving higher density development around public transport nodes". These could direct development to the most accessible locations, linking sustainable land use with better public transport. Argues for a more formal mechanism to bring about implementation of the TDA and create cooperation between the relevant authorities such as developers and transport operators.
