Community energy programme announced - 2001 - DETR News Release 26 April 2001 (2) .

The Deputy Prime Minister has announced a £50m programme aimed at providing low cost energy to low income households and schools, hospitals, universities and other community buildings. The initiative, "Community Energy", will help government meet its environmental targets through the adoption of Combined Heat and Power (CHP).
