An RICS report published 8 May 2001 reveals that the UK commercial property market held firm in 1Q of 2001, despite gloomy global economic forecasts. Surveyors reported growth in occupation of commercial floorspace, with 7% reporting a rise in sales and lettings than those reporting a fall, up from a 2% difference in the final quarter of 2000. Take-up was strongest in the industrial sector, and retail also saw robust sales.
