Government has tabled a new clause to the Finance Bill which confirms that businesses will not have to pay interest on tax deferred as a result of financial problems brought about by the foot and mouth outbreak. The helpline is open from 8am to midnight, tel 0845 300 0157. The draft regulation on interest on deferred National Insurance contributions are available on the Inland Revenue website at http://www.inlandrevenue.gov.uk
