The Minister of Agriculture announces a £15.4m scheme for farm businesses hit by foot and mouth disease, which will see the MAFF Rural Development Service (RDS) provide seminars and a regional contact service encouraging use of the Farm Business Advice Service (FBAS) to farmers. The scheme aims to respond to both farmers' short-term needs and government plans for restructuring agriculture.
