The Construction Products Association (CPA) has warned the DETR that revisions to the building regulations may hinder innovation. It has urged the DETR to rewrite the recent proposed amendment to Part E - Resistance to the Passage of Sound - to ensure the guidance notes are not taken to be requirements. It suggests the guidance section may prevent developers using particular materials, for fear of breaking the regulations.
