According to the Construction Confederation's latest construction trends survey, construction output rose to a four-year high in 1Q 2001. Contractors are expecting enquiries and output to improve in 2Q 2001. However, contractors also reported recruitment difficulties had worsened in every skills category, while labour and material costs had risen.
