Choose onscreen money-spinners - 2001 - Estates Gazette (0119) 12 May 2001, 126-127(2) .

Looks at the setting up, and nature of, three websites that aim to sell building investments: PrimePitch, and two new players UK-PiP (UK Property Investment Pages) and e-Property Investor. These firms all target the smaller investor, which West End agents do not have the time to nurture. UK-PiP sees its service as a marketing tool rather than as a business. Addressing the inexperience of its potential market it offers a simple tutorial on investing in commercial property, and prides itself on being easy to use. It costs £10,000 to join the site, and there is a listing charge of £300 per property. However, the agent listing the property does the deal, and the site receives no cut. Contrasts the approach of this site with that of E-Property Investor.
