Time for property to speak with one voice

Gummer, J

Time for property to speak with one voice - 2001 - Estates Gazette (0118) 5 May 2001, 62-63(2) .

Argues that the property industry needs a single voice to effectively lobby government. Discusses the failure of the property industry to influence the key issues of lease reform, stamp duty and the seller's information packs, and suggests that devolution and the growing complexity of planning arrangements require a greater influence from the industry. Introduces the concept of a single body, funded by the industry with overall responsibility for deciding subjects of general importance, and lobbying government.
