Mayor Ken Livingstone has pledged support for tall buildings in return for planning gain, although he has admitted that he is prepared to negotiate on the controversial demands for 50% affordable housing in new developments. He remains, however, committed to obtaining as much planning gain from developers as is possible without putting schemes in jeopardy.
