A Labour election victory would mean a swift reform of the planning system to streamline it and bring it into line with the government's neighbourhood agenda. Top civil servants presented proposals to representatives including the RICS and the RTPI. Proposals would take forward pledges in the Labour manifesto to speed up the planning system and help identify sites for incoming businesses.
