A special survey in the latest RICS quarterly report has shown that the cost of maintaining property is seen as a burden for many landlords and is putting off many investors in the residential lettings market. 92% of those chartered surveyors specialising in the market complained about the cost of maintenance. Other deterrents to investors included a shortage of suitable housing stock and lack of tax incentives.
