Saturation of leisure market may fuel hybrid park demand
Saturation of leisure market may fuel hybrid park demand
- 2001
- Retail Week 15 June 2001, 27(1) .
TW Research Associates has compiled the "Definitive Guide to Retail and Leisure Parks" on behalf of FPD Savills. The researchers discovered 269,400 sq m of out-of-town space with planning permission, which is likely to be developed during the next two years. However, there is a threat that the leisure market has reached saturation point, and some landlords are looking to convert their leisure planning consents to retailing. TW Research Associates also identify a new trend among developers to incorporate leisure facilities into larger retail parks. This 'hybridisation' is also emerging in-town. Table lists top leisure and top retail/leisure schemes.
