Discusses the findings of a survey of valuers into the extent and causes of variance in the valuation of property investments for commercial lending purposes within the UK. The main cause of variance was revealed to be individual 'behavioural influences' with the margin of error principle being generally accepted as a test of negligence by those involved in valuations.
